Y do we celebrate Easter?

We celebrate Easter w/everyone else. We being Christians. We buy N eat Easter bunnies, eggs N marshmallows chickens. We hunt 4 chocolate N jelly beans. We cook large meals N have family N fiends over 2 share them with. But is there more 2 this holiday that we don’t know about?

Did U also know that Jesus died 4 us on Good Friday N then rose from the grave 2 go N live in Heaven 4ever. He suffered N died 4 each N every 1 of us. He loved us that much! He was beaten N humiliated N hung on a giant cross using nails through His hands N feet 2 hold Him up. Y? 4 U! That’s how much He loves U!

Take a Look In A Book

There R 66 books in the Bible. That is a lot of info! Lets take a look at some of them.

Matthew, Mark Luke N John:

These R called the gospels
These 4 books R written by diff men N tell the story of Jesus' birth, life N death from diff perspectives
Each book contains 'parables' which R stories that have a hidden meaning
These are the only books where Jesus is a man N speaks
These books continue into the book of Acts when Jesus is raised from the dead N shows himself 2 his followers.
These books contain many key things a follower of Jesus should B doing.

Temptation

1 Corinthians 10:12,13

Don't be so naive and self-confident. You're not exempt. You could fall flat on your face as easily as anyone else. Forget about self-confidence; it's useless. Cultivate God-confidence.

No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he'll never let you be pushed past your limit; he'll always be there to help you come through it.

Bible Basics

The Bible is a collection of 66 books written by diff people over time, BUT R all inspired by God (God controlled what was written by telling the author what 2 write)

We, as Christians, believe that the Bible is living N active N still applies 2 us today. WHA?! This means that even tho God’s word (the Bible) never changes when we read it it can ‘become alive’ 2 us. It can really mean something 2 us N almost seem like that part was written only 4 U N somehow God knew what U were going tho. Then months later U can read the same thing N it says something’ totally diff!

This is how Jesus Christ was born.

A young woman named Mary was engaged 2 Joseph from King David's family. But B4 they were married, she learned that she was going 2 have a baby by God's Holy Spirit. Joseph was a good man N did not want 2 embarrass Mary in front of every1. So he decided 2 quietly call off the wedding. While Joseph was thinking about this, an angel from the Lord came 2 him in a dream. The angel said, "Joseph, the baby that Mary will have is from the Holy Spirit. Go ahead N marry her. Then after her baby is born, name him Jesus, b/c he will save his people from their sins." So the Lord's promise came true, just as the prophet had said, “A virgin will have a baby boy, N he will B called Immanuel," which means "God is w/ us."

After Joseph woke up, he N Mary were soon married, just as the Lord's angel had told him 2 do. But they did not sleep together before her baby was born. Then Joseph named him Jesus.When Jesus was born in the village of Bethlehem in Judea, Herod was king.
