R U a Lightly Seasoned Taco?

This week while in a convo w/my mom my sister mentioned how nice she looked in her new glasses N that she looked much younger. 2 which I added, " Yeah mom it takes U from a fart 2 a foggie 2 a lightly seasoned taco."

Although this comment ended up being good for a laugh, as many of my completely random-blunt-spontanious comments do as they pop out of my mouth b4 I know it, I also thought it would B good 4 an illustration. So here goes.

Much like our aging parents we R always getting older. We never get younger. No one has ever found the infamous "fountain of youth". Not only can we not stop the aging process but we also cannot 'turn back time'

And The Word of the Day is.....

Today's word of the day is "Constantanopolant". Some of U may know that I hv been spreading this word around the last few weeks. It is a word I came up with while talking. (Yes, I'm a little weird :p) Constantanopolant is a word that is made from 2 other words - constant N Constantinople (now called Istanbul). Its purpose? To emphasize a commitment. For example: God's love is constantanopolant.

St. Valentine

Ever wonder Y we celebrate Valentine’s Day? According 2 1 site - Early Christians saw Valentine's Day as a way 2 honor St. Valentine, of whom there were actually 3+, all who were martyred on Feb 14.

St. Valentine was a priest in the 3rd century who performed secret marriages when the Roman Emperor thought single soldiers were more likely 2 enlist in the army. He was imprisoned N executed on Feb 14, 270. It is believed he was responsible for giving the jailer's blind daughter back her eyesight, N B4 his execution, he sent her a note saying, "From UR Valentine." The phrase is still used today.

Manafest

Manafest is a Band I stumbled across today while looking for a new band to tell U about. I have completely fallen for this band. Fresh music that is real, honest and close to home. In Manafest’s song “Every Time You Run” he takes a look at his life - strung out on drugs and alcohol sleeping on dirty couches in raunchy houses. Who Is Influencing You?

In 1998 when most of U were either not born or just babies the #1 song in Sept was “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” by Aerosmith. It was written N promoted 4 a box-office-topper “Armageddon” The movie starred Bruce Willis, Ben Afelck N Liv Tyler (Areosmith’s daughter).

Now U know Aerosmith as “Steven Tyler” - a judge from this year’s American Idol. He has been in the music business 4 many, many years N has influenced millions of teens. N again he has had the opportunity 2 influence a whole new generation.

There R many other bands like this out there that still influence teens after decades. ACDC N Metallica, 2pac N Puff Daddy, Korn N Marilyn Manson just 2 name a few.

But what about taking a stand N deciding 2 have a different influence in UR life? It is so important that we make the effort 2 listen 2 music that is Christian. The lyrics don’t have 2 B only ‘Jesus’ 2 change U on the inside. Try listening 2 the bands N stations we’ve mentioned 4 a month N C if UR parents notice a difference.

There is a movie that is currently in theaters called 'Dolphin Tale'. This movie is based on a true story N is about a group of people who build a mechanical tale 4 a dolphin 2 use 2 swim.

'Rolemodel'??

Rihanna has been in the news a lot since her career first started in 2005. Just 17 yrs old. Now she is 23 yrs old and with many hit songs such as, "Umbrella", "Don't Stop The Music", "Only Girl (In The World)" and many others under her belt she has become an inspiration and a role model to millions world wide. But what kind of role model is she??

In 2009 she accused her boyfriend of abusing her and won telling her fans to stick up for themselves and stop domestic abuse. weeks later she went back to her boyfriend and pretended like nothing had ever happened.

Friendship

When U R a teen things happen so fast. UR whole life can come N go in a blink of an eye! 1 day U R popular N having a blast the next UR friends hate U, every1's talking behind UR back and life no longer makes sense. It's hard 2 know what 2 do and where 2 turn when life gets like that. But no matter what UR life dishes U can ALWAYS count on Jesus to be there right beside U - EVERY step of the way.

Even if U R the biggest 'looser' or the 'coolest' kid in school everyone needs a friend.

Somethin' ta Ponder

Ever feel like UR parents R soooo outdated? Like the phones in the picture the younger generation sees the older as out-dated or obsolete sometimes. But that is not the case. Older people have lived thru what U R facing or will B facing. Older people have experience N wisdom that ONLY comes from surviving thru the tuff times.

This week ask an older person what it was like when they were a kid? Ask them what kind of situations they faced when they were UR age N how they survived when it seemed the world was ending. Who knows - maybe U will learn something!

22 New Year's Resolutions 2 try

1. Wear swim fins 2 the mall N act like everything's perfectly normal.
2. attempt 2 play an accordion standing on 1 foot.
3. Hand out large quantities of bubble gum 2 my friends N challenge them 2 a bubble-blowing contest.
4. Spin in circles until U fall down.
5. Jump rope w/a younger kid.
6. Spend an afternoon in the kids area of the library reading books U loved as a kid.
7. Watch a cartoon show that used 2 B UR absolute fav.
8. Show up @ a party w/a gallon of ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate syrup N sprinkles, N announce, "Sundaes 4 everybody!"
