We are to Seek and Save the Lost |
God has given to us some marvelous gifts. The most important and most precious is the gift of salvation as found only in Jesus. As well, we have the gifts of the Holy Spirit that allow us to minister supernaturally to those who do not know God and thus help them to come to know their heavenly Father.
God has also invited each of us to become personally involved in His work - the task He sent Jesus to begin and created the Church to continue and complete - seeking and saving the lost
.
During my current visit to Russia (5 cities) I have noticed a serious hunger to learn more about both the gifts and the ways to use these gifts to evangelize friends, family and people in our work place. Every place I have been privileged to preach and teach has asked me to talk about what the Bible says about the gifts and their use in evangelizing. As we met with and planned a January 2012 trip - part of which takes me back into Russia - again the topic is the gifts and seeking and saving the lost.
It is obvious that God is up to something and that He is moving the same way in every nation. He is seriously mobilizing His people to reach the nations and change the course of world history. In the process He is looking for people to join Him … people who will give evangelism and the gifts more than a parting glance and a nod and a wink. It is time to become involved if you are a true disciple. It is time to pay whatever price it might cost you to be a vital part of what He is doing. Of course, this assumes you are serious about the faith and wanting to be a partner with God in His work today.
Around the world God is calling His people to refocus and become involved with His wonderful plan of “going into all your world and making disciples…” Will you respond in a fresh new way? |
